Egyptian goddess 'ku-de-sh-k' and Indian goddess 'Du-r-ga' both are mounted upon a lion. The lion is a symbol of lightning due to same behaviour of roaring. The snake is a synonym of cloud in Indian mythology, which pervaded all over the world with Indian migrants.

The Sanskrit word ku + de-sh-k dq ns"kd means 'to sound, moan, groan, cry, hum, coo + a ruler, governor': A sounding ruler as the lightning.

The Sanskrit word 'Du + r + ga' nqxkZ means 'to burn, consume with fire + fire + speedy': the speedy burning fire as the lightning.

Ishtar was the divine personification of lightning based on Sanskrit A-st + r vLr $ j% means "thrown, cast + fire; the lightning. The lightning synonyms of a lion both use to roar. The wings synonyms of lightning both fly in the sky. An owl, which like darkness of night as lightning lives in darkness of clouds (Sanskrit U-loo-k my`d means "an owl, a name of lightning-Indra). A broad necklace is a symbol of shining. The folded (to make short) whip is a figurative image of lightning. The horns is an indication based on Sanskrit word Sri-ng-m J`Uxe means "horn" and others important meaning are "lordship, sovereignty, supremacy, which was used for 'lightning' in ancient Akkadian culture.

Mara is the highest-ranking goddess in Latvian mythology. She is also 'lightning goddess' as Sanskrit describes; Maa, Ma-t, Ma-ta, Matri ek*ekr ekrk ekr~ mean "mother' and r-h > ra j% > jk mean "fire, igni (agni). Thus Latvian Mara was worshipped a personage "Lightning goddess".
