Akka (Finnish mythology)
Akka is a female spirit in Sami shamanism and Finnish mythology.
The Finnish word A-kka vDdk is originally Sanskrit means "mother", which came from India via ancient Akkadian culture. Sanskrit A-kka + d vDdk n means "mother + donor: lightning, the donor mother, which gives water, food, crops through rain. Worship of the 'akka' was common and took the form of sacrifices, pleas for help and various rituals.
