                    Give birth (hieroglyph)

The Ancient Egyptian a lady hieroglyph Gardiner sign listed no. B3 is for the 'give birth'. The lady giving birth hieroglyph is used in the Ancient Egyptian language hieroglyphs for the alphabetic vowel letter 'msj'.

Neither Alan Gardiner could understand the pictograph of a bathing woman nor did he define the word msj meaning 'to bathe'. The Sanskrit word M-sj eLt meaning is 'to bathe in filling water as pool or river, plunge, dip or through oneself into water'. A woman is bathing in a pool. The water rings are shown at lower side in the hieroglyph.

Ancient Egyptian religion was adopted by Jerusalem's Abrahamic religions Judaism, Christianity and Islam. The Sanskrit word M-sj spread as a religious custom with ancient Egyptian religion. The Egyptian word "(M-sji-d) m-sj eLt (to bathe) + i-d bZM (to prayer) means "to bathe before prayer, purity for worship" became a religious word in Islam. An early Islamic custom of 'msj' (to bath) of purity changed in to 'wudu' (short bath) due to water shortage in Arabia peninsula.
